Blissfield is a village in eastern Lenawee County, Michigan, set along the River Raisin and US-223 roughly 25 miles northwest of downtown Toledo. It is named for Hervey Bliss, who settled the area in 1824 and became its first postmaster when the post office opened in 1828; the village incorporated in 1875. The Blissfield Downtown Historic District, centered on Lane Street, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as are the David Carpenter House and the First Presbyterian Church of Blissfield.
